My take away from this passage was that we must be diligent and patient in our waiting. In God's timing the truth will be revealed, blessings will come forth, and love will prevail. I learned that life is full of mystery and excitement. The most mysterious and exciting part of it all is waiting on the One who fulfilled the promise many years ago. I may not stay at the temple day and night, fasting and praying like Anna, but I can keep God in my heart and let His light shine everywhere I go.
I can wait in submission, in patience, in compassion, in love, in and out of season. My waiting is not just for the return of the Messiah. It is for the hope that all that I been praying for and believing will come to pass. What lesson can you learn from this passage? What are you waiting for?
