"It is no secret what God can do. What He's done for others, He will do for you." This is the quote I hear several times a year at various church functions. Usually someone is giving the welcome or response at a special service. When I was younger, I thought it was just an expression that everyone used at church. It was not until I got older that I understood why they said it. It was not a rehearsed or mandatory statement. It was a personal testimony or encouragement to others.
It is true. God is in the blessing business. He wants to bless His children and see us prosper. He does not boast about His greatness, that is our job. I write this because today has been an extraordinary day. The gift has been stirring up inside me for a while and today it was finally released. I know that everyone is proud and amazed at what I have accomplished. But all else aside, I just want to please God.
So if I have to wait and watch God bless others, I'm okay with that. I know that God has great things in store for me and my family. The lesson here is that your blessing will come. When? I don't have the answer. Only God knows when He will bless you and how and why. I know that if others around me are getting blessed, it does not do me any good to be jealous of them. In fact, I work harder and smarter (through faith of course) to embrace their blessings and pray for mine. Happiness is contagious and I've caught it! So the next time you see someone receive a blessing (in any form), rejoice and be glad because God thought enough of them to do it.
